Softball and Life Lessons????

Yes, if you have been around be any in the past few weeks you realize softball season has started and by now you avoid me to keep from hearing about it LOL We began the season by winning 18-3 over the CCA Slammers, a great way to begin the season. A day or two later I kept thinking don't get cocky and don't rely on that game or last season. As the week progress I began to get calls and emails from players that would not be available for this week. I went from having 18 players to wondering if I would even have enough to field a team. We ended up playing with 9 players, which gave us an automatic out at the 10th spot :( We didn't let this keep us down, we fought hard even though we were short handed and it was overcast and 40 degrees. We ended up losing 6-3, however we were not dejected.

Okay, you are asking now what does any of this have to do with life or God or anything other than softball. Think about this......how many times do we have a great experience and begin walking with a slight strut holding our heads high thinking nothing can stop us? Then BAM, the smallest thing will trip us up. It seems too many times we have that mountain top experience and want to just stay there and not move forward. If we do that , then we might easily be unprepared for the next challenge.

There are going to be great days and not so great days. Things might go great and seem nothing can go wrong, then again it might be one of those weeks where nothing goes right. The main thing we have to remember is that God is working everything into His plan. Sometimes we take the wrong turn and He must get creative to get us back on course.

It's fine to enjoy the victories of the past, but don't stay there so long that you miss what lies ahead. Even if it appears all your team mates have left you all alone, remember God is still there with you.
